One-year position as a researcher and teacher in the Department of Sports & Recreation. During this year, I wrote a paper on city branding in the journal Society and Leisure and a second paper on native sports in the journal Nature and Recreation. I conducted an audit for the BA of Sport & Tourism Management. In addition, I lectured 10 units, including Sociology of Organizations, Sport Economics, Brand Marketing, Total Quality Management, and Tourism Studies. I was hired a few months after publishing my first monograph on nation building, sport and tourism development in Hawaii and California.

VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN SPORT MANAGEMENT

One-year position as a researcher and a teacher, within the Department of Sports & Recreation. This was my first year lecturing Economics and Management courses for graduate and undergraduate students in Sport Management. As I previously gained experience in sociology, sports and recreation in the United States I designed courses that compares sport business models between North America and Europe. Such topics have become increasingly demanded by universities for their degrees in Sport Management. Besides teaching, I wrote my first monograph on nation building, sport and tourism development in Hawaii and California.

LECTURER IN SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY

2017 - 2016

This is a one-year lecturership renewed once in the fields of anthropology and sociology.  I was given the opportunity to teach in a lecture hall of 80 students for the first time. This position overlapped with my Research and Teaching Attaché job at the Paris Nanterre University (see below). As I came up with new syllabi, I taught the units Contemporary Sociology, and Anthropology of Family and Kinship.

One-year position as a researcher and a teacher, working in the  Department of Business Administration. For this appointment, I published one journal article on cultural performances in Hawaii (Lemarie, 2016), and one book chapter on sport development and soft power in California (Lemarie, 2017). Besides, I taught Sociology of Inequalities, and Sociology of Professions.

LECTURER IN ANTHROPOLOGY OF TOURISM

University of Hawaii at Manoa

2016 - 2015

In the Department of Anthropology, I lectured the class Anthropology of Tourism and reviewed the major issues of tourism development, including host-guest relationships, sustainable tourism, dark tourism, and cultural tourism. In addition to teaching, I conducted fieldwork in Hawaii with stakeholders in sport and tourism development in Waikiki. 

PHD FELLOW IN SOCIOLOGY

2014 - 2011

After graduating from two Master's degrees in Sociology and in History, I was appointed for three years by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. I was a full-time university employee within the Doctoral School Economy, Organizations, and Society. An additional clause was added to the fellowship for a two-year teaching assistantship in Political Sociology. This was my first experience in writing academic papers, and teaching courses. During this fellowship, I spent one year at the University of California San Diego to conduct fieldwork on management of nonprofit sport organizations in Southern California.
